What the judges said about Cory's winning performance...

Journey of the Lone Wolf

Peasant's Song:
Great angular feeling to open, journey starts well. Good attention to detail.

A — I like the dialogue in this, well done tubas
B — Well done euphs albeit a shade loud for mp

PRESTO — some super effects and well controlled rhythms
F- Cornet & euph, well played

G-H — I like the drama created.
H — again well crafted
I — Well done sop & horn.
J — Nice chaotic music!

Night:
Atmosphere is great also BRAVO flugel, at last LUNGA on the pauses, thank you. Was played like a dream!

L — Nearly CALM, a shade heavy for me
BRAVO trombone, super 'COOL'

2 bars before N — not quite 'OBVIOUS' enough with groups
N — Thank you baritone, super mischievous
O — Euph, captures the tenderness

P — BRAVO cornet, perhaps a little more space and longer on TEN a shade — super control

Fight:
The mood is captured DARK/BROODING/RAGING
S — Folk song is passed around so well
U — Super RAGE IN THE PLAYING
W — serene could be softer for p, then vibes would be audible mp
X — TOUR DE FORCE! BRAVO
