4BR has been informed of the death of Peter Hainsworth who has passed away at the age of 85.
1959 National
Peter played with Black Dyke Band in the late 1950's early 1960's and was one of the last remaining seven players who won the National Championships in 1959 giving the iconic performance of 'Le Roi d'Ys' under Major George Wilcocks.
After he left Black Dyke he joined Brighouse & Rastrick and played there from 1964 to 1968.
In later years he played with the Bradford Concert Band.
Funeral details
His funeral will be held on Wednesday 5th October at Rawdon Crematorium, Leeds at 11.00am and afterwards at Baildon Hall, Hallfield Drive, Baildon, Shipley.
