The Marple Band has announced the appointment of Stephen Curtis as its new Musical Director.

The experienced conductor studied under Prof David King and Dr. Roy Newsome at the University of Salford before enjoying successful tenures with the baton with the likes of Wellington (Telford) and Flixton Bands amongst others.

Key signings

A Band spokesperson told 4BR: "We are looking forward to working with Stephen to realise the band's full potential once again.

After several key signings Stephen will have many talents at his fingertips and we hope to be featuring amongst the prizes in future contests."
