Reins handed over at Coleshill

The conducting reins at Coleshill Band have been handed over with a bit of vocal help and plenty of patriotic pride.

Coleshill
There was a lot of patriotic pride on show led vocalist Lisa Waddingham accompanied by Carolyn Strentz on piano

The conducting reins of Coleshill Town Band were officially handed over from Stephen Fagg to Richard Dickins on the weekend at a concert at Coleshill Town Hall.

Fine form

The event saw Coleshill and Coleshill Youth Brass in fine form as they played short sets from their current concert repertoire, whilst the audience were also treated to a set of sparkling vocal solos from Lisa Waddingham accompanied by Carolyn Strentz on piano (above).

The 'Proms Finale' saw flag-waving aplenty as the massed bands performed, 'Rule Britannia', 'Jerusalem' and 'Land of Hope & Glory', with the community singing led by Lisa.

Thanks

A spokesperson told 4BR: "Our thanks go to all performers, the audience and members of the Explorer section of 237 Birmingham Scout Group based in Castle Bromwich, who gave their time to help out at the concert."

The band will now begin rehearsals for the busy Christmas period as well as looking forward to competing on the regional stage in Spring 2017.
