The Midlands based Langley Band has announced the creation of Langley Community Brass — a band that will cater for players of all abilities, ages and experiences in the heart of the Black Country.
The new community band, which will aim to meet monthly to prepare music for performances in the West Midlands area, is open to any brass or percussion players who are interested in a new experience.
Strengthening community links
Langley Band Chairman, Oliver Wilson told 4BR that he was delighted that the band was looking towards the future by strengthening its community links.
"138 years after Langley Band was formed, we are thrilled to be able to begin a brand new brass band,"he said. "We hope that the newly formed Langley Community Brass will provide a platform for players, young and old to come together to make music in a relaxed and enjoyable environment.
If you know of anyone who would benefit from being part of a community band then please help us spread the word! Who knows what the future could hold for this new musical endeavour!"
