Adjudication teams announced for Scottish Festival of Brass

Russell Gray, Sandy Smith, Raymond Tennant, Alistair Orr, Alasdair Rankin, Alan Fernie and Brendan Wheeler will be the men to impress at the Scottish Festival of Brass.

  The team of judges have been announced for the forthcoming Scottish Festival of Brass.

The Scottish Brass Band Association (SBBA) has announced the adjudicating team for the forthcoming 2016 Scottish Festival of Brass.

Scottish Open

Yamaha Artist Russell Gray and tenor horn star Sandy Smith will judge at the Scottish Open and Scottish Youth Championships on November 26th.

Youth Champs

Meanwhile, Raymond Tennant, Alistair Orr and Alasdair Rankin will be the adjudication team at the Scottish Youth Brass Band Championships, which take place on November 26th and 27th at Perth Concert Hall.

Challenge contest

In addition, Alan Fernie and Brendan Wheeler will judge the Band Supplies Scottish Challenge contest in Kilmarnock's Grand Hall on November 19th.

SBBA President, Carrie Boax, told 4BR: "Wonderful weekends of music making await in Perth and Kilmarnock, where brass and percussion players of all ages will take centre stage.

From entertainment programmes to own choice test-pieces, audience members will be treated to fantastic performances by terrific bands, and I look forward to welcoming everyone."

Times and places

The Band Supplies Scottish Challenge gets underway at 9.30am on November 19th with the Scottish Youth Championships beginning at 9.00am on November 26th and 27th and the Scottish Open starting at 1.30pm on November 26th.

Those attending the festival can also look forward to children's entertainment, workshops and education sessions.
