There will be a tasty little aperitif to the second half of the 2016 contesting season in Scotland next weekend when ten cross border rivals line up to battle it out in Troon at the Land O' Burns Entertainment contest.
£2,000 top prize
The event will be held at Troon Concert Hall on Saturday 27th August, with the first band taking to the stage at noon to try and win the £2,000 first prize. Each will provide a 20 minute set that this year must include a published work from the pen of Hollywood composer John Williams.
Defending champion
Whitburn will be hoping to make it a hat-trick of wins as they defend their title against a strong field that includes British Open contenders and former winners Co-operative Funeralcare as well as welcome visitors Fishburn from the North East.
Supported by South Ayrshire Council and run by the Dalmellington Band, there will be a host of prizes on offer — from podium and sectional awards to solo prizes and a separate entertainment award of £500.
