Buxton contest set for repeat in 2017

The popular Buxton Contest will return once more in 2017 — with a great day of banding guaranteed for players and supporters alike.

The North West Brass Band Association has announced that they will once again be holding their hugely popular Buxton Contest in 2017.

The date for the event will be Sunday 7th May and will see bands able to enter one of the four sections of competition — including the combined Championship/First event.

Temporary pavilion

Although due to building work the contest took place in a special temporary pavilion, it still proved to be a great day out — with the new contest stage providing excellent acoustics.

It is likely that the 2017 event will still be held in this temporary structure, but bands and supporters are still guaranteed a great day of banding (Lofthouse Band winners above).
