Question:

What is the link between a famous test-piece used both at the British Open and National Finals, a 1967 pop song hit by Jeff Beck and an 1835 comic opera (and famous overture) by composer Daniel Auber?

Last Winner

Our winner of the latest trio of CDs and B# cleaning kit was Nick Betts from Guildford, who also plays tenor horn with Alder Valley Band.

He knew it was the heart that linked Gustav Mahler's fear of being buried alive (he asked to be stabbed through it after his demise), Count Dracula's death (he didn't quite like the thought of them!) and an early concert overture for brass band by Edward Gregson ('The Pacemakers' from 1970)
