Bolsover Summer School comes to a musical climax

The Bolsover Summer School will come to a triumphant climax this evening — so why not go along and enjoy the music making.

Leaders of the Bolsover Summer School

The annual Bolsover Summer School course comes to an end this evening with a concert at the Heritage High School in Clowne starting at 7.00pm. (S43 4QG)

It is the culmination of a great week of hard work, fun, expert tuition with eager delegates who have been expertly led by a team that includes Dr Brett Baker, David Thornton and Joseph Cook (above) — with the trio leading the way from the conductor's rostrum this evening.

Musical centrepiece

The musical centrepiece will be the world premiere of a new work by composer Steven Ponsford entitled, 'The Triumph of the Cross', whilst tuba star Joseph Cook will be the featured soloist.

The band will also perform a wide variety of repertoire — from Irvin Berlin to movie classics in what promises to be a great family concert atmosphere — all for just £2.00!

We would like to see as many people as possible coming along to enjoy what promises to be a great eveningspokesperson

Fine fashion

A spokesperson told 4BR: "It has been another wonderful week of music making — one that will be rounded off on fine fashion. We would like to see as many people as possible coming along to enjoy what promises to be a great evening."
