The cream of Welsh brass band playing talent has been working hard under the baton of conductor Tom Davoren this week on the annual summer course National Youth Band of Wales.

With a varied selection of repertoire and with Belgian euphonium star Glenn Van Looy as the featured soloist, the course will culminate in two concert appearances in Aberystwyth and Monmouth on the weekend.
Premieres
Works to be featured include those be celebrated Welsh composers Mervyn Burtch and Alan Hoddinott, whilst Tom Davoren's Shakespearian inspired 'The Divinity of Hell' and brass band version of 'Windy City Heartbreak' will receive premiere performances, alongside Paul Mealor's 'Fantasia on a Theme by Henry Purcell'.
Glenn Van Looy will star on Peter Meechan's Euphonium Concerto 'Requiem Paraphrases'.
