The brass band score to the ground breaking 'Dark Arteries' ballet production will be featured in a performance by Manger Musikklag at the prestigious BrassWind Festival in Norway in September.
Milestone
Directed by Peter Szilvay it will mark yet another milestone in the continued success of the composition by Gavin Higgins which has made such an artistic impact since its premiere by Rambert Ballet and Tredegar Band at Sadler's Wells in 2015.
Tour
The production gained widespread critical acclaim on its subsequent UK tour, with performances backed by the likes of Fairey, Whitburn and Carlton Main Frickley Colliery Bands, and the ballet will once again take to the stage when it will be performed in Wales, accompanied by Tredegar Band in November.
The BrassWind Festival (30th September) has long been seen as one of the leading contemporary music events in Scandinavia.
New premiere
This year's event will also see the world premiere, performed by Manger, of a work for solo violin and brass band entitled, 'Breathe Not a Word', by Spanish composer and violinist Ricardo Odriozola, who has been a teacher at the prestigious Grieg Academy in Bergen for over 25 years.
