With the band finding itself a cornet player light on the front row due to holidays, Clive Burnell of the Hamilton City Band in New Zealand stepped in to help. Clive was in the country for a wedding and was visiting tenor horn player Liz Smith with whom he used to play with at the Gisborne Band back home in New Zealand.
He readily agreed to fill the gap and also stepped in to play the top cornet part in the famous trio.
