A Rose by any other name from Pennine Music

The iconic Bette Midler classic is now available for all aspiring euphonium ballad performers...

Pennine Music

Euphonium soloists can now take the opportunity to perform a fantastic new arrangement of the classic ballad, 'The Rose'.

Remarkable

Songwriter, Amanda McBroom may have taken her just 45 minutes to write the piece in 1977, but it was three quarters of an hour that has gone down in musical history after it was blasted into prominence by the remarkable interpretation by singer Bette Midler in the film of the same name.

It's now been arranged by Rob Westacott as a tremendous euphonium solo with lower brass accompaniment.

Lyrical tone

It's a brilliant new addition to a soloist's repertoire — not technically demanding but demanding a lyrical tone that will allow players of all ages to shine.

Swiss hymn tune

Also recently released is a hymn tune setting of the Swiss traditional melody, 'Staff of Faith', sung to the words 'My Faith it is an Oaken Staff'.

This work by Gavin Somerset uses the full colours of the brass band spectrum and allows several instrumentalists the chance to shine in this warm and entertaining work with a big finish ending.
