The latest Allan Withington Conducting Course in Leeuwarden in The Netherlands has once again been an inventive mix of innovation — including different genres and styles of music, rhetoric and contemporary dance.
12 delegates from seven different countries took part this year — led by the Stavanger MD alongside rhetorician Mette Hojen, with a wide ranging selection of repertoire explored and deconstructed — from Peter Graham's 'The Triumph of Time' to 'Malaquena', 'Credo' and 'Pie Jesu'.
The delegates also benefitted from conducting Soli Brass — Leeuwarden, runner-up at the 2015 Dutch National Championships as well as working with contemporary dancers and a vocalist.
