Entries are now being sought from bands from both sides of Offa's Dyke wishing to take part in the second leg of the 2016 Welsh League Championship, which will take place in Fishguard on Saturday 1st October.

Excellent facilities

Based at the excellent facilities available at Ysgol Bro Gwaun in the town (SA65 9DT), the event is hosted by the Goodwick Band organisation through auspices of the West Wales Brass Band Association, and offers a warm welcome to bands from all over the Principality and beyond.

The own-choice contest will see rivals compete in each of the senior sections plus the growing youth and training band events — with generous podium and individual prizes up for grabs. It forms the second event of the three-part Welsh League contest series.

Warm welcome

A spokesperson told 4BR: "We offer a warm welcome to competitors and visitors alike, and we would be delighted to see competitors from all banding areas of Wales, England and even from over the Irish Sea take the opportunity to visit a wonderful part of the country and enjoy a great contesting day."
