Scottish Youth heads to Norway

The National Youth Brass Band of Scotland is heading to Norway today for a special Summer Course led by Russell Gray and Richard Evans.

The members of the National Youth Brass Band of Scotland (NYBBS) will be boarding a flight to Norway today (26th June) for a special eight day Summer Course based in Bergen.

The 40 youngsters will be led by Musical Director, Russell Gray and Musical Director Emeritus, Richard Evans, and will work with Yamaha tuba artist Eirik Gjerdevik. The band will be based in the Asane Folkehogskole where they will prepare for a series of concerts.

SBBA President, Carrie Boax told 4BR: "The waiting is almost over for our talented young musicians before they depart for an unforgettable trip to a beautiful part of the world.

The band will be rehearsing intensively prior to their performances and I know that they will represent their home bands with pride."
