It's been a very busy few weeks for the talented young players of the Deiniolen Youth Band (above).
Fantastic experience
The band recently competed for the first time at the Whit Friday contests around the Saddleworth and Tameside circuits and thoroughly enjoyed the experience, as MD Osian Tomos told 4BR.
"It was our first experience of Whit Friday and it was a fantastic. The youngsters thoroughly enjoyed themselves and performed magnificently at all the villages. Two buses travelled from Deiniolen and the supporters also had a great time."
Success did not stop there though, as last Sunday they made the slightly shorter trip south to Newtown for the open air March & Hymn Tune event — coming away with the Best Youth Band prize for the third year running in addition to the 'Best Deportment' prize.
This is a fantastic end to our competing year and it has shown that hard work does pay off. I'm delighted for all the members as they never miss a practise and they always give 100% in all their performancesMD, Osian Tomos
Hard works pays off

The band are now taking a well deserved break for the summer holidays and will restart in September by focusing on the North Wales Championships in November.
