It will be a great pleasure to welcome these fine bands to Sage Gateshead and we are sure that the audience will take the opportunity to hear them in their individual concert performances on the Saturday, which are all free of charge, as well as in the contest."
Further elements
John added: "Further exciting elements of this wonderful weekend festival of brass will be announced during the coming weeks, including an inspirational exhibition that will reflect upon the 40 years since Brass in Concert started in the Rothmans works canteen in Darlington.
The exhibition will profile bands, programmes, soloists and conductors, with photographs and commentary from many of the brass band personalities involved in the event's progressive journey."
