4BR has been informed that Pete Shaw will be leaving his role as principal cornet with the Leyland Band — ending his 18 month tenure with the north-west outfit. It was stated by the band that the mutual decision was due to his travel and work commitments.
Fabulous asset
Musical Director Thomas Wyss told 4BR: "Pete has been a fabulous asset to the Leyland Band. His leadership and stage performances have been outstanding. We wish him luck and best wishes for the future."
Formerly with north-west rivals Fairey and BT Bands, Pete joined Leyland in time for their appearance at the 2014 Brass in Concert contest, taking over as principal cornet shortly after.
