23 bands will take part in one of the world's most famous outdoor brass band contests this year at the 92nd West of England Bandsmen's Festival in Bugle.
The event takes place on Saturday 18th June, opening when the competitors march through the village to the contest field. As well as bands from Cornwall and Devon, the Festival is delighted to welcome competitors from Hampshire, Oxfordshire, Somerset, Wiltshire, Worcestershire as well as London.
Royal Trophy
Seven bands will compete in the Championship Section, where the winner will claim the Royal Trophy, presented to the Festival in 1913 by the then Prince of Wales, Duke of Cornwall.
With ample parking in view of the bandstand and comfortable seating, the scene is set for the audience to enjoy the attractive selection of test pieces.
Adjudicator
Adjudicator Michael Fowles has the task of judging the seven sections, which include the popular Youth and Training Bands.
With an Archive Exhibition featuring previous Festivals, Trade Stands and the famous tea tent, a full day of entertainment and enjoyment is guaranteed.
