The Lancashire Youth Brass Band will be looking for its next generation of young players, when it holds a special open rehearsal next month for players of Grade 3 standard and above to come along and enjoy themselves.
It all takes place Saturday 11th June between 10.00am and 3.30pm at the band's new rehearsal venue at the Woodland Centre, Southport Road, Chorley (PR7 1QR).
Players welcome
Players from the age of 8 to 16 are welcome to come along — and all they have to do is bring along their own packed lunch! Players who live or go to school outside Lancashire County are very welcome to join.
The band rehearses 16 times a year on a Saturday — usually once a fortnight in term time, under the direction of the award-winning conductor and educator, Helen Minshall.
Encouraging
The band has really taken off this year and recently performed for the first time at the National Youth Brass Band Championships, receiving a Silver Award.
So why not come along and enjoy a lovely friendly and encouraging atmosphere, and look forward to the next school year, including a brace of joint events with Leyland Band and a tour to the Isle of Man.
