The 2016 Northern Counties Brass Band Association Open Contest will be held this Saturday, 28th May, at Loch Leven Community Campus in Kinross.

Eight bands from across Scotland will battle head to head in Perthshire, in a bid to carry off the title of Northern Counties Champion Band.

20 minute programmes

Each band will be hoping to impress adjudicators John Boax and David Frame with their 20-minute entertainment programme and, with prizes on offer for 'Best Band' in each section, as well as for 'Best Percussion', 'Best Soloist' and 'Most Entertaining Programme', there should be plenty to play for across the board.

Spectator admission for an enjoyable and varied afternoon's music making is £5 (£3 concessions). Doors open at 11.30am with the first band taking the stage at midday.
