The sound of brass comes to the heart of the Cotswolds

The Cotswold Edge Brass Festival aims to attract plenty of players to enjoy masterclasses and music making.

Cotswold

The inaugural Cotswold Edge Brass Festival takes place on Sunday 26th June in Dursley, Gloucestershire, where players of all ages and abilities will get the chance to work alongside experienced tutors and students from the Royal Welsh College of Music and musicians from Wotton Silver Band.

Range of activities

There will be a range of musical activities, including large and small group rehearsals and masterclasses, with a clear emphasis on enjoyment, inspiration and music making.

The day will finish with everyone performing in an evening Gala Concert alongside the Wotton Silver Band and special guests.

We are passionate about giving people the opportunity to learn a musical instrument as we have gained so much from it personally Wotton Silver Band Chairman, Bruce Davies

Passionate

Wotton Silver Band Chairman, Bruce Davies told 4BR: "We are passionate about giving people the opportunity to learn a musical instrument as we have gained so much from it personally.

So our aim is nothing less than to develop our area as hot bed of musical talent — and this is our first step."

There is a suggested donation of £5 per participant to cover costs.
