Bolsover places still up for grabs

There are still a few places left to be filled for what promises to be a superb week of music making at the Bolsover Summer School — featuring Roger Webster

4BR has been informed that there are still spaces available on the forthcoming Bolsover Summer School.

The week long course which takes place from the 24th — 29th July this year has become one of the most popular events of its kind in the banding world, combining fantastic music making with world class tuition and the opportunity for plenty of relaxation and enjoyment.

Stunning team

This year's course will be led by a stunning team, led by Brett Baker, David Thornton, Mark Wilkinson, Steve Jones and Paul Bennett, and will feature a brand new commission for delegates to work on from renowned composer Steven Ponsford, entitled 'The Triumph of the Cross'.

Building on last year's successes, delegates will visit and perform at Renishaw Hall and Gardens as well as the historic Newstead Abbey and work throughout the week with the acclaimed tuba soloist Joseph Cook.

The venue at the Heritage High School also offers great facilities — all with 100 yards of the main hall — with plenty of space for individual, sectional and group practice.

The course will also feature the fantastic talents of Roger Webster, rightly regarded as one of the world's finest cornet players, as well as special conducting seminar led by the team of tutors.

Personal connection

In addition, all the tutors will provide a specialised masterclass, whilst the popular Wednesday evening tutor concert feature this year includes specially commissioned works for the group.

The course is tailored for the individual allowing each delegate to enjoy a high degree of personal connection and tuition with the tutors throughout the week.
