Ahead of their Grand Shield appearance at the British Open Spring Festival in Blackpool this coming weekend, Welsh contenders Tongwynlais Temperance has signed the talented cornet player Carwyn Waters on repiano cornet.
West Yorkshire to Wales
Signing for the Albert Hall National qualifiers Ton marks a return to banding and a return to Wales for Carwyn, who most recently played for the Drighlington Band in West Yorkshire.
Band Chairman Iestyn Davies told 4BR: "It's great to be able to offer a place to a player returning to Wales and choosing Tongwynlais to make his banding home. Carwyn has fitted into the cornet section superbly."

Delighted to be back
Meanwhile, Carwyn added: "I'm delighted to be back in Wales. It is a bit of a journey from Ammanford to Cardiff for rehearsals but it's worth it when you feel at home with a band that puts its heart and soul into its music making!"
