Whiston lead up with bands by a babbling brook

The Whiston Festival of Brass will warm up with a series of weekend concerts from local bands before the big day...

The popular Whiston Festival of Brass will once again hold a series of Sunday afternoon concerts leading up to the hosting of the event itself on 2nd July.

They will be held on the Village Green, giving the afternoon a quaint rural atmosphere beside a babbling brook — the ideal place to enjoy brass band music making with a picnic, cold drinks and plenty of friends.

Bands

Each concert will begin around 3.00pm lasting up to two hours, and this year will feature the following bands:

29th May: Frickley South Elmsall
5th June: Dinnington Colliery
12th June: Whitwell Brass
19th June: Cawthorne
26th June: Maltby Miners Welfare
The Festival will take place on Saturday 2nd July.
