The Lewis Merthyr Band has reacted with joy after being told they were to be called into action on Judgement Day itself — although in this case it's the annual rugby union matches between the four Welsh regions at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium.
Bumper crowds
The head to head Pro 12 battles between the teams has become one of the most popular rugby day outs in the domestic calendar, and attracts bumper crowds to the stadium where it is usually only the national team that takes to the pitch.

Lock horns
However on Saturday 30th April, Lewis Merthyr will entertain the crowds before Cardiff Blues take on the Ospreys, and Newport Gwent Dragons lock horns with the Scarlets. The band will also return to the Stadium in August to play at a Rugby Veterans Tournament.
A spokesperson told 4BR: "We can't think of a better band job all year. We can play, watch the rugby and enjoy a few pints as well."
