Strong line-up confirmed at Brass in Concert

There is a strong line-up of contest and concert bands to enjoy at the Brass in Concert Championship later this year.

The organisers of the 40th Brass in Concert Festival, to be held on the weekend of the 19th/20th November at Sage Gateshead in association with Yamaha, Banks Group and British Bandsman, have announced the line-up of contenders for the Championship.

12 bands

Defending Champion Cory will face 11 challengers (including three from overseas), while Brighouse & Rastrick and Carlton Main Frickley Colliery return following their absence from last year's contest.

It is understood that an announcement will be made as soon as possible in respect to a replacement for Foden's, who have withdrawn following the devastating fire to their rehearsal room.

2015 US Open Champion Dublin Silver will perform at 11.00am in the Northern Rock Foundation Hall, whilst following the Concourse performances by the Workshop Band and Action Medical Research Youth Entertainment Champion Youth Brass 2000, Brass Band Schoonhoven and then Stavanger Brass will be featured.

Unmissable
