No more tubby for tuba

Lee Dunkley, the MD of Loxley Silver Band is aiming to lose three stone to help his band get hold of a tuba

Lee Dunkley

Lee Dunkley, the MD of Loxley Silver Band has set himself a weight loss challenge to raise funds to purchase a new instrument or two…

Benefit

Lee (above) told 4BR: "My aim is to lose 3 stone by the end of July, and whilst benefiting myself I'm hoping to benefit Loxley in the process by also raising some money towards a new instrument for them.

I will be eternally grateful for any donations or sponsors — and I can assure everyone that I hope this will be something I won't have to do again. Once the weight has its gone, it's gone for good!"

See the audience

Band Secretary, Stuart Young, jokingly added: "We have been right behind our MD — or we hope that will be the last time we have to say it!

We are now looking forward to the prospect of being able to actually see our audiences at last!"

Loxley is a hard working band based in north Sheffield, which develops young players as well as recently setting up a veteran's band.
Any donations to Lee's challenge will go towards the purchase of a new tuba

We are now looking forward to the prospect of being able to actually see our audiences at last!Band Secretary, Stuart Young,
