Entries open for annual Battle of the Bands contest

The popular Battle of the Bands contest is looking to fill up its ranks with contenders once more.

Ireland Colliery (Chesterfield) Band has announced that it will once again run its popular Music Festival Weekend on the 11th-12th June at Parkside Community School, Boythorpe Mount, Chesterfield.

This year's Festival entertainment starts with the Solo, Duet & Quartet Contests on the Saturday, with sections for wind instruments added this year.

Contest

Following the band's concert performance on Saturday night to mark the Queen's 90th birthday, the popular annual Battle of the Bands contest will take place the following day with bands performing in three sections: Section A for 1st & 2nd Section contenders; Section B for 3rd & 4th Section bands, and Section C for Unregistered & Training Bands.
