York Railway Institute Band has announced the signing of a brace of new players.
The experienced cornet player Fraser Hill comes in to the front-row cornet bench, following spells with the likes of Kirkintilloch, Thoresby Colliery, William Davis, Hammonds Sauce and more latterly Carlton Main Frickley.
Delighted
Fraser told 4BR: "I was delighted to join up once again with Chris Hirst and play for the band at this year's North of England contest.
Having secured Championship Section status I was delighted to sign up full time when asked. They are a young, talented and hard working band with a bright future and it is a pleasure to be part of that."

Trombone
Also joining is Heather Curnow on solo baritone. Heather is a second year first study trombonist at the University of York and is relishing the challenge of occupying a principal seat in a Championship Section band for the first time.
