All weather Welsh youth!

The young players of Deiniolen Youth Band will now be able to perform in any conditions thanks to sponsorship help.

Deiniolen Youth

The 40 young players of the Deiniolen Youth Band will be able to tackle music in any weather in the future thanks to the donation of waterproof jackets from GreenWood Forest Park — recently voted 'The Best Family Attraction in North Wales'.

Several band members are currently employed at the Park, whilst others have carried out seasonal work, so it has proved to be a great link for both organisations.

Generous

MD Osian Tomos, told 4BR: "We are very grateful for the generous sponsorship. We now have warm waterproof outdoor wear that will allow us to compete in outdoor contests and events whatever the weather!

We are now busy preparing for the Newtown Open Air Contest and we are hoping to compete at the world famous Whit Friday marches — so we may be testing them to the full!"

Pleased

GreenWood Forest Park is happy to support local community groups and initiatives and was pleased to be able to help the band.

Mark Rowlands, Visitor Services Manager at Greenwood added: "Deiniolen is a brilliant youth band and we know many of the young members. It's great to be able to make such a practical donation that will have a positive impact on their activities."

Great strides

Osian added: "We've made great strides this year, by recording our best result at the North Wales contest for 18 years, and with our new warm wear we hope to be able to compete more, putting Gwynedd firmly on the musical map with our brilliant young musicians!"
