Collins link to Poulton ends

The 18 month musical partnership between conductor Dave Collins and Poulton le Fylde Band has come to an end.

Dave Collins

After a successful 18 month period,4BR has been informed that musical partnership between Poulton-le-Fylde Band and Dave Collins (above) has come to an end.

Thanks

A spokesperson stated: "The band would like to record its thanks for the commitment and leadership Dave has provided in a period which has seen the band grow from strength to strength. Due to his enthusiasm and drive, we secured the services of many talented musicians which resulted in the band filling all vacancies back in January.

We have also been challenged by new concert programmes, which have been performed in many high profile venues such as Blackpool's Grand Theatre to sell-out audiences."

The band really developed under the baton of Dave, and we now have a greater number of regular players around the stands enjoying their musicChairman, Andy Moore

Developed

Chairman Andy Moore added: "The band really developed under the baton of Dave, and we now have a greater number of regular players around the stands enjoying their music. We are looking forward to new and exciting challenges as we look to make our debut performance at a number of different contests later in the year."

Aside from a busy summer schedule, the band is beginning to prepare for a succession of march and hymn tune contests, in addition to experimenting further afield with more traditional contests.
