Tough going for Coalburn

Coalburn Silver wish the fantastic Susan Tough bon-voyage as she prepares for a new life in Australia.

Coalburn

Coalburn Silver Band's victory in the Second Section of the recent Scottish Championships in Perth marked a wonderful way for tenor horn player Susan Tough to bow out on a high before leaving for an exciting new life in Australia.

Integral part

Susan has been an integral part of the band's success over the past decade and has served on the band committee as secretary and librarian. Amazingly, she has also played in all the horn roles, and has volunteered to even play percussion when asked!

She is heading to Australia to be with her parents and sister who emigrated a few years ago.

Honoured

Susan was honoured at the band's recent concert with a Honorary Life Membership along with several farewell gifts including a montage of photographs depicting her time with Coalburn.

"It was fabulous for Susan to leave on such a high, although we are sad to see her go we are thankful for the time, commitment and service she has given to the band over the yearsCoalburn Band

Fabulous

Band President Alan Court told 4BR: "It was fabulous for Susan to leave on such a high, although we are sad to see her go we are thankful for the time, commitment and service she has given to the band over the years. We wish her well in her new life in Australia."
