Ahead of their West of England First Section Area challenge in Torquay, defending champion Roche Brass has been boosted by a quartet of new signings.
Trio
Stephanie Barry, Phil Cleave, Barney Donohew and Rachael Scott come to the band from a variety of musical backgrounds — including Australia in Stephanie's case.
The front row cornet player originally came to the UK to study at Salford University before joining the Coldstream Guards, and has now embarked on a new career which has seen her move to Cornwall.
Phil meanwhile is no stranger to the band, having been a regular dep for over a year, and now takes on the second euphonium role, whilst tuba player Barney came from an orchestral background before enjoying his first taste of banding with St Austell. Finally, Rachel joins the percussion section after taking a break from banding.
Delighted
Resident MD Lee Clayson told 4BR: "I'm delighted that we have managed to attract such high quality players. All four are already making a big contribution to the band, and I look forward to working with them."

Pleased
Meanwhile, Musical Advisor Garry Cutt, who will lead Roche in Torquay added: "I'm also pleased to welcome the players who I'm sure will further enhance a hard working team of people here at Roche."
