The Aldbourne Band recently premiered a new brass band arrangement of a major work by the respected composer Liz Lane at their 53rd annual concert in Swindon.

Antiphony

Under the baton of MD David Johnson and in the presence of the composer, the band performed 'Antiphonary', a composition originally written for the Symphonic Brass of the RAF and inspired by Berkley Castle in Gloucestershire.

I was so pleased Aldbourne chose to play 'Antiphonary'. It was a really evocative performance and my thanks go to the band for making me so welcome at what was a very enjoyable eveningLiz Lane

Evocative performance

Liz was delighted by the performance, and later told 4BR: "I was so pleased Aldbourne chose to play 'Antiphonary'. It was a really evocative performance and my thanks go to the band for making me so welcome at what was a very enjoyable evening."

The event also included a performance from the Aldbourne Youth Band, resplendent in their new uniforms, as well as sneak preview performance of 'Cambridge Variations' in preparation for the band's Regional Championship challenge in Torquay.
