Cornerstone's shanty colour

Cornerstone Brass has been in the recording studio to work once more with renowned singer/songwriter Nat Johnson.

Recording

Members of Cornerstone Band took time out of their preparations for the upcoming Yorkshire Regional Championships in Bradford to take to the recording studio with Singer/Songwriter Nat Johnson.

The recording marked the ten year anniversary of the band Monkey Swallows the Universe and the release of their first album, 'The Bright Carvings', through cult local label 'The Sheffield Phonographic Corporation'.

Gigs

The band first performed with Nat at Sheffield City Hall in 2013, and have since been part of a number of concerts and recordings in a variety of venues including the Lexington Club in London and the Tramlines Festival held in Sheffield.

In addition the duo have featured regularly on local and national music radio channels and it is hoped this latest release will prove just as popular.

Enjoyed

MD Damian Wileman told 4BR: "The band have always enjoyed working with Nat. She is a wonderfully creative and intuitive musician and fully appreciates the sounds and colours that the brass band can bring to her music."
