Bands are requested to ensure they get their entries in for the popular Buxton Brass Band Festival, which will take place on Sunday, 8th May at the town's famous Pavilion Gardens.

Date change

The organisers of the own-choice contest wish to make bands aware that there is a slight change in the contest date this year.

There are four sections; a joint Championship/First, Second, Third and Fourth, with the prize money equally distributed with a first prize in each of £450, with podium awards of £250 and £150.

Venue change

Due to work to replace the main beam running around the dome of the Octagon Theatre, the contest will be held in a purpose built, solid-sided marquee built on the Promenade.
