The members of Consett Junior Brass (above), made up of pupils from Consett Junior School, are now preparing a new programme for a series of concerts which includes a performance with White River Brass in Consett Empire Theatre in June.

The founder David Jackson, has conducted the band since its formation in January 1973.

He is supported in school by Rebecca Waters, a Year 6 teacher, who plays cornet in Consett Brass and is a former member of the Junior Band.
