The Leyburn Band in North Yorkshire certainly enjoyed a busy end to 2015 with their annual Christmas Concert performance to a sell-out audience of over 600 people at the town's Garden Rooms at Tennant's Auctioneers, Leyburn.
Festive favourites
Directed by associate conductor Rebecca Lundberg, they entertained with traditional festive favourites following a pre-concert firework display provided by the owner of the venue.
Now in their twelfth year, Leyburn has become a popular attraction in what is fast becoming a premier concert venue in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, having hosted both Black Dyke and Grimethorpe Band over the past twelve months.
Charitable causes
In the lead up to the concert, the band helped raise money for various local and national causes including the Cumbrian Flood Appeal.
As well as doing some local busking, Leyburn also took part in a 24 hour carol playing marathon organised by baritone player Richard Horsley which raised £1400 for Children In Need.

Right balance
Musical Director George Lundberg told 4BR: "It's fantastic what a traditional village band can achieve with the right balance of organisation, commitment, support and talent.
We are incredibly fortunate at Leyburn to have strong links with the local community and as a band we would like to thank the people of Leyburn and in particular Rodney Tennant for their continued support.
It is wonderful that in our musical efforts we continue to give something back to the community."
