Jager Maestros go down a bomb at Butlins

The wonderful Jager Maestros have gained a legion of new fans following their recent crowd stirring performances at the Butlins Mineworkers Championship in Skegness.

Jager

The fantastic Jager Maestros have been enjoying the plaudits from brass band fans from all parts of the globe following their appearance at the recent Butlins Mineworkers Championship in Skegness (above).

Packed in

The group made up of Chris Haigh, Lee Rigg, Paul Duffy, Lindsay Marson, Neale Hobson, Matthew Rigg, Anthony Mann, Matt Hindle, Garrath Beckwith, James Garlick, Ben Wright and Ryan Watkins, headlined the Saturday night entertainment — much to the delight of over 2,000 people crammed into the Centre Stage venue, with the organisers having to close the doors to even more who wanted to come in and hear their unique brand of musical entertainment.

Facebook fans

Now the band's Facebook site has also been bombarded with new fans — making them the most popular oompah band on the planet!

Amazing response

The group's leader Chris Haigh told 4BR: "It was brilliant at Butlins — and the response from the audience was amazing. Now we are enjoying the feedback from new fans from across the world — and it's something we are very proud of."

He added: "A feat like this could only be achieved through the support of the brass band movement in the UK. It was a real honour to perform to the banding fraternity at Butlin's and to show our gratitude to them. Our thanks go to them and to Stan Lippeatt and all of his team for welcoming us back for another year and for being so accommodating!"

More appearances

The response to the group's performance comes on the back of the critical acclaim achieved at last year's Edinburgh Fringe Festival, where they sold out one of the largest venues for the week.

Now they are looking forward to yet more diverse appearances at the likes of Black Dyke principal cornet Richard Marshall's birthday party and a host of corporate concerts at home and abroad before they hope to embark on the opening of their very own Bierkeller!
