The first rehearsal of Veterans Concert Band Wales was held last weekend in Neath Port Talbot.
Together
Band Chairman Wayne Loveday told 4BR: "It was fantastic that after all these months of planning to see more than 30 musicians come together, many of whom had known each other previously, had played together in the past, and some of whom hadn't seen each other for many years."
He added: "It was also interesting to see many younger members in the band. It's really part of our mission that the public understand a veteran is not just an older soldier, but also those in their 30's or 40's who have served their country. I'm thrilled with our success and now look forward to our second rehearsal next month."
Great afternoon
MD Craig Roberts added: "It was a great afternoon blowing through a mix of repertoire, including a major work for symphonic winds donated by the Stadtorchester Ravensburg in Germany. It was a privilege to lead the rehearsal and work with these excellent musicians".
