The Association of Brass Band Adjudicators (AoBBA) has announced that they are to once again run their 'Young Adjudicators Scheme' in partnership with the Yorkshire Regional Brass Band Committee.

The popular initiative will take place at the Yorkshire Regional Championship held at St. George's Hall, Bradford on Saturday 5th March.

Mentors

The 'Young Adjudicators' will be mentored by David Hirst and John Roberts of the AoBBA Executive Committee, and will pit their emerging skills to assess the bands performing in the Third Section on 'A Cambrian Suite' by Michael Ball.

The official contest adjudicators, Dr Robert Childs and Michael Dodd will meet the youngsters after the event to discuss their assessments.

Remarks and results

The 'Young Adjudicators' will be sat in front of the official adjudicator's box and will be issued with the same remarks sheets and results form to assist them in their task and will also be given tickets along with their parent/guardian(s) for the Championship Section, if they wish to attend and a CD recording of their choice of band.

After the prize presentation ceremony, refreshments will be provided.

There are three places available for young people up to the age of 18, who wish to test their adjudicating skills under the guidance of David and John4BR
