The Co-operative Funeralcare Band has announced the addition of two new players to complete their line-up in advance of the forthcoming Scottish Open Championship in Perth.

Tuba and cornet

Duncan McLuskie has joined on Eb tuba from Dalmellington Band. Duncan developed as a player under the guidance of the late Hugh Johnstone MBE and in recent years has become one of the most sought after playing talents in Scotland.

Meanwhile, the experienced Lorraine McLeod has joined on Third Cornet. Lorraine has played assistant principal cornet with the Clackmannan Band for many years and has gained widespread respect for her playing.

These are exciting times for the band following excellent performances at the British Open and National Finals and we are now concentrating our efforts on reclaiming the Scottish Open titleBand Chairman, Chris Davies.

Progress

Band Chairman Chris Davies told 4BR: "These latest appointments continue our progress in building a high class ensemble of dedicated players — and Lorraine and Duncan certainly fit the bill.
