The Goodwick Band, recently crowned First Section National Champion of Great Britain is to be honoured for their multiple successes on domestic and national contesting stages with the award of the Freedom of the town's of Fishguard and Goodwick.

Under the baton of inspirational MD Matthew Jenkins, the band secured its second National title in three years at Cheltenham as well as securing the Championship Section title at the West Wales Brass Band Association Festival in Burry Port a week later.
Goodwick has also moved up to 44 in the 4BR World Rankings, and the latest recognition has crowned another amazing year a band that will compete against the likes of Cory and Tredegar at the Welsh Regional Championship in Swansea next March.

"This has been a remarkable and rewarding time for all of us,"Goodwick MD, Matthew Jenkins told the local Western Telegraph newspaper, which reported the news of the award.
