There is to be a much more active clampdown on perpetrators of Illegal audio, photographic and video recordings taken at the National Championships of Great Britain, after 4BR was informed that the hall management had to intervene on numerous occasions with individuals at the Royal Albert Hall on the weekend.
Proactive
An Albert Hall spokesperson told 4BR: "We always try to be proactive and understanding at such an event to try and control what can become a thoughtless activity that spoils the enjoyment of the vast majority of the audience.
It is very simple. It is illegal to record performances without permission at the Albert Hall."
Keeping an eye
They added: "We do keep an eye on social media after events and will consider action if appropriate. We will continue to work with others to stop this becoming a reoccurring problem."
Support
4BR has also spoken to Kapitol Promotions Ltd who fully supported the response.
"We have an excellent relationship with the Royal Albert Hall and fully support their approach,"Philip Morris told 4BR.
"We made a number of announcements throughout the day to remind people about taking photographs and recordings.
The bands are also made fully aware of their responsibilities in respect to this matter. The legal position is clear — as are the possible consequences."
