Whit Friday Fairey tale to be told

How Fairey's won the Saddleworth Whit Friday crown earlier this year is set for the BBC airwaves on Monday evening.

Fairey

The inside story as to how Fairey and Garry Cutt became crowned this years Saddleworth and Oldham District Whit Friday Champion is set to be screened across the UK airwaves on BBC1 HD on Monday evening (12th October).

Filmed

A film crew from the BBC North West magazine programme 'Inside Out' followed the reigning North West Area Champion around the Saddleworth venues as they vyed for glory.

Filming took place at the band's head quarters in Stockport prior to 29th May and in addition to being on their coach, Inside Out caught up with Garry Cutt on the Saturday as he was getting all of the results from 4BR as he analysed how his band was expected to do in the Saddleworth Championship.

As the brass band community already knows, Fairey's first Saddleworth crown in almost twenty years wasn't without its talking points and the feature of around nine minutes in length certainly proved to be an eye opener for the programme's Executive Producer, Dominic Callaghan:

'The Whit Friday experience with Faireys was a very enjoyable one and very much part of the fabric and culture of Saddleworth. We know brass band enthusiasts and those who attend and compete at Whit Friday will be interested to see how we have told a little bit of a Fairey tale'.

Nationwide

4BR understands that the feature will be screened during each regional broadcast across the UK on Monday evening between 7.30-8pm whilst viewers in the North West got a sneak preview of the action at the end of the programme broiadcast on 5th October.

We know brass band enthusiasts and those who attend and compete at Whit Friday will be interested to see how we have told a little bit of a Fairey tale'~ Dominic Callaghan

The Inside Out programme should be available on the BBCiplayer for around thirty days after transmission.
