Entertainers required in Woodstock

If you have a cracking 20 minute entertainment programme you want to show off then why not do it at the forthcoming Oxfordshire & District Entertainment Contest.

Entertainment

The Oxfordshire & District Entertainment Contest organisers are hoping for a strong entry of competitors for this year's event which takes place at Marlborough School, Woodstock on 25th October.

One section

This year the event will be run as one section, with prizes awarded to bands according to their national grading as well as the overall champion.

Each band (who can borrow up to 5 players) will provide a 20 minute programme that must include a solo from a registered player.

The adjudicators for the event are Stan Lippeatt (Music) and Flowers highly talented baritone player Ben Stratford (Entertainment).

The contest is open to all nationally registered bands, unregistered and youth bands.

New format

A spokesperson told 4BR: "We have decided to take this new format approach to enable the audience to enjoy a much more varied event.

Although we do not offer monetary prizes there are awards for music and deportment as well as for the best instrumentalist and individual and sections."
