The well known conductor, band trainer and adjudicator David Ashworth heads for Holland next week to work once again with Felison Brass as they prepare for their appearance at the Dutch National Championships in November.

Intensive

Dave will lead an intensive weekend of rehearsals alongside Felison's MD Patrica Geertse on the set work, 'Beecher Variations' by the American composer Stephen Bulla.

The test-piece was commissioned by the Dutch Brass Band Association with additional funding provided by the Buffalo Silver Band (New York) in celebration of its 2015 centenary.

Good memories

A spokesperson for Felison Brass told 4BR: "We have good memories of working with David in 2012 and we look forward to him coming over to visit us once more.

He has a renowned reputation as a conductor outside the Championship Section level which is perfect for us."
